TRIAL JUDGE

Nancy Flynn
I started training and trialing sheepdogs in 1998 and fell in love with the process. I raise sheep and hay on my farm in NW Indiana. I have always enjoyed learning to read different kinds of sheep and handling dogs to move them efficiently. After a career in technology, I became semi-retired and have been enjoying more free time to work with trainers and stock people to understand stock management. I’m lucky to travel and compete in many Midwest trials and occasionally get to travel west to compete on range sheep. My focus is always on the ethical treatment of sheep and the dogs, while finding ways to make the training of sheep dogs enjoyable for humans as well. The Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival has been a favorite trial for me and many others since it combines all the elements of sheep management, marketing, and husbandry.
