Saturday and Sunday – Activity Center

The Wisconsin Sheep & Wool Festival welcomes the return of the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts (WMQFA) and thanks its volunteers for their continued support.

This year, Wisconsin fiber artist Mary Sue Fenner’s magnificent wool jackets will be featured Friday and Saturday in the Activity Center at the festival. A Clothing, Textiles and Design major at the University of Wisconsin- Stout, art studies at Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Polytechnic, England, Kansas U. and a UW-Milwaukee Masters gave Fenner an excellent background in fiber arts. Mary Sue is an instructor at the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and has taught her One-Of-A-Kind Jacket class at Sievers School of Fiber Arts for many years. She is noted for use of bright colors and her own handspun yarns. Her clothing and accessories can be seen in area shows, galleries and shops, and have been featured in Handwoven, Shuttle, Spindle & Dyepot, Belle Armoire, Altered Couture, Sew Somerset and Haute Handbags magazines. She recently won the HGA Award at the Wisconsin Handweavers, Inc’s “Loominosity”.

The museum, located just east of historic downtown Cedarburg, Wisconsin, is dedicated to educating the public about the artistic, cultural, historic and social importance of quilts and fiber arts.  For information about upcoming exhibits, adult classes, youth programs and the benefits of membership, visit the website www.wiquiltmuseum.com or call 262-546-0300.
