Three wonderful days are in store for you at the Wisconsin Sheep & Wool Festival, each year on a September weekend at the Jefferson County Fair Park in Jefferson, Wisconsin! Fill your days with an array of activities at the multiple venues across the festival.
The Activity Center is the hub of activity, including contests, auctions, Shepherd's Workshops and Wool Show and topping that off with a Lamb Dinner on Saturday evening. Education abounds in the two buildings full of Wonders of Wool classes. Follow the sheep to the Sheep Barns and Stock Exchange and show ring.
The Country store has over 130 exhibitors from across the country, offering everything from sheep supplies and products; baskets to drop spindles; yarn to jewelry; rug looms to roving.
One indoor arena houses the Used Equipment Auction. The second Indoor Arena provides both sheep and education with displays and demonstrations throughout the festival.
There is plenty of activity outside the buildings. Watch stock dogs entered from across the Midwest compete on the open field. Several knitting and fiber activities take place outside as well.
Visit all the areas of the festival and enjoy, even be amazed, at the diversity of the sheep industry and the enthusiasm of those who support it.
There have been quite a few inquiries about the possibility of flooding and the associated problems that could create at the Festival site. According to the National Weather Service, the Rock River will keep slowly rising and cresting sometime Sunday. However, there are no known issues currently in and around the fair grounds. Nor is the National Weather Service currently predicting any. We will keep monitoring the situation, but are not expecting any problems. Keep checking the Festival website and the FaceBook page for any updates.
**Due to the large number of closed/full classes, all online registration for Wonders of Wool Classes will close Wednesday night at mid-night. If you have a class saved in your shopping cart at that time, that cart will be emptied. Any additional registrations for remaining open spots will be offered at the registration desk at Festival.**
**Attention Wonders of Wool attendees - there has been a cancellation for the closed two-day class 402:Beginning Weaving on a 4-Shaft Loom. There is now 1 opening for that class, available on a first-come, first-served basis. When that slot is filled, the class will again be closed.**
